Dear Candidates,
Starting with 2010-2011 Academic Year, Higher Education Board (HEB) has initiated new acceptance procedures for those foreign students who wish to get undergratuate education in Turkey with their own means. International students are no longer required to take entrance exams; instead, universities can accept them through other national or international exams recognized by HEB.
Our university is open to accept international students from all parts of the world. The city of Istanbul has intensive relations with European countries, the Balkans, the Middle East, Russia, China, Central Asia and Caucasia. One part of these relations is the flow of international students to Turkey from all parts of the world. Our university is ready to accept international students from all this geography and from all parts of the world.
In accordance with the HEB decisions (dated 21.01.2010, and 17.03.2010) concerning international students who wish to get undergratuate education in Turkey with their own means, applications from:
- Those foreign nationals who have already completed high schools or are in the final year of high schools,
- Those who gave up one of their dual citizenship, Turkish (TC) or Northern Cyprus (KKTC), and have completed entire high school studies outside Turkey,
will be evaluated.
EXAMS
Exams approved by HEB are listed at: www.yok.gov.tr , under FOREIGN STUDENTS/ THOSE WHO WILL STUDY WITH THEIR OWN MEANS.
Of these exams:
a) Those with the status of high school graduation, like (Abitur, International Bac- calaureate, GCE, Tawjihi, etc.) have no validity time restrictions.
b) Those with the status of university entrance exams, like (ÖSS=YGS/LYS, SAT, TCS, YÖS, GAOKAO, Kasakistan National University Exam, etc.) carry a validity period of two years.
Proficiency levels of English or Turkish for international students are determined by our university on the basis of documents and conditions specified by our university.
QUOTAS:
A total of 77 international students will be accepted to ICU English and Turkish programs in the 2011-2012 Academic year.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
Language of Instruction is either entirely English for some programs or entirely Turkish for other programs.
CAMPUSES:
The three campuses of ICU are located on the European side at Eminönü, on the Asian side at Üsküdar, and at Küçükyalı.
ICU OFFERS THE MOST REASONABLE TUITION FEE:
The Board of Trustees of our university may apply reductions of 100 %, 75 %, 50 %, and 25 % on the fees specified below.
2011-2012 tuition fees are the same for both Turkish and international students.
Four-year degree programs (undergraduate): 13.500 TL +VAT
Two-year diploma programs (undergraduate): 10.250 TL + VAT
English Language Program for four-year degree programs: 13.500 TL +VAT
English Language Program for two-year diploma programs: 10.250 TL +VAT
Four-year degree program students can pay the tuition fee at 8 installments, maximum.
Two-year diploma program students can pay the tuition fee at 9 installments, maximum.
International students may also get accommodation at student dormitories.

Note 1 – Unacceptable Applications:
1) Turkish nationals
2) KKTC nationals
3) Those holding dual citizenship with one being either TC or KKTC
4) Those who gave up one of their dual citizenship, Turkish (TC) or Northern Cyprus (KKTC), and have completed entire high school studies in Turkey or in KKTC
5) Those who gave up one of their dual citizenship, Turkish (TC) or Northern Cyprus (KKTC), and have completed entire high school studies in one of theTurkish Embassy schools,
6) Those who have been dismissed from any of the higher instistutions in Turkey on a disciplinary punishment
Note 2
1) Evaluation of applications and placement of candidates are carried out by ICU and the University is free to fill the quotas or not.
2) Fulfilling the requirements for applying does not guarantee acceptance.
3) Acceptance letters will be sent to the address specified by the candidates (envelopes with addresses written on and stamps are taken during application), also, placement results will be announced at: www.iticu.edu.tr
4) Those who are placed in programs will have to get ‘Education Visas’ from the Turkish consulates, if they are outside Turkey, from the City Security Offices, if they are in Turkey. This VISA is absolutely necessary to enter Turkey and to register at the university.
5) Documents with defects will cause the termination of placement, even if final registration procedures are completed.
