Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship Qualifiers for Master’s Degree Programs:
Article 12- (1)Scholarships for Master’s programs are given to;
a) students who hold a graduate degree from İstanbul Commerce University (ICU) and
who are accepted to ICU’s Master’s programs,
b) students who succeed to be within the first 10% in the Academic Staff and
Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) including ICU graduates,
c) Research assistants of ICU,
d) Research assistants from universities of developing countries that have signed
cooperation a protocol with ICU.
Scope and Duration of the Scholarship:
Article 13- (1) The terms of the scope and the duration of the scholarship of Master’s
programs are as follows:
a) Graduates of ICU are granted 25% scholarship for Master’s programs. Those who
have the minimum grades of 3.00 and above are granted 50% scholarship.
b) Students graduated from ICU within the first 5% in her/his department and registered
to a Master’s program in the same year are given full scholarship.
c) Students graduated from ICU within the first three places in their department and
completed their Master’s degrees with the average grade of 3.50 in one of ICU
institutes, are given full scholarships if they are accepted to a PhD program in their
faculties.
ç) All students accepted and registered to the University graduate programs (including
ICU graduates), in accordance with their ALES standing; 10 % of those who have
registered to that program, on condition that undergraduate grade point average is 2.50
minimum and ALES grade is 80 minimum: top ranking student is given 100%, second
best student is given 75%, third best student is given 50%, and other students in the
first 10% are given 25% scholarships. Other students with the average graduation
grade of less than 2.5 are given %25 scholarship if they are among the first 10%.
d) ICU research assistants are given full scholarships. Graduate education fee paid prior
to becoming a research assistant is repaid.
Research assistants who resign before completing a Master’s program are required to
pay the fee for the remaining period of the program.
e) Students registered to graduate programs can hold only one of the above graduate
scholarships. Research assistans from the universities of developing countries that
have signed cooperation a protocol with ICU are given full scholarship for Master’s
programs with thesis.
f) Master’s programs scholarships are granted for a normal, uninterrupted education
period.
Scholarship Termination
Article 14- (1) Master’s programs scholarships are terminated under the following
conditions:
a) In the event of failure to complete the Master’s program in the specified period of
time,
b) In case the average grade is under 2.5 for Master’s program students, and under 3.00
for doctorate students for one semester or when they fail a course.
c) In case a student gets a disciplinary punishment heavier than condemnation.
